Earthmoving is the use of machinery for excavation, pushing or transporting quantities of earth and soil.

An excavator is a self propelled vehicle either on tracks or wheels and a hydraulic arm. It can be used to load, lift, backfill, digging trenches, rock breaking, demolition, pipe laying landscaping, mixing material or site clean up.

A wheel loader is a self propelled machine with a front mounted bucket at the end of two booms or arms. The bucket is capable of moving large capacities of earth form one location to another.

A backhoe loader is essentially a loader and excavator in one machine. It is used to load and push material while the back is used to dig into the ground for excavation.

A dozer is a self propelled machine with a large blade at the front for pushing dirt and usually comes with a ripper attachment at the back for breaking hard material. Some applications of a dozer are for land clearing, levelling, stripping and spreading soil and towing.

A skid steer loader is versatile as it can be used with many attachments and the most efficient earthmoving machine.

About Port Stephens , 2319 NSW

Captain Cook named the port when he passed by on May 11, 1770, in honor of Sir Philip Stephens, who was the Admiralty Secretary.
